AKASH GAUTAM TEACHES ALLAHABAD TO ‘BINDAAS BOL’

Date 19 Feb 2012. Time 10:30 a.m. Venue: Hotel Kanha Shyam.

A cyclone named ‘Akash Gautam’ hits Allahabad. After almost 3 hours the storm abates but not the after effects.

If that read like a weather report, rest easy, we are talking about the phenomena called Akash who mesmerized Allahabad on the above mentioned date. About 1200 footfalls comprising of students, intelligentsia, glitterati, paparazzi and the entire Career Launcher Allahabad staff were held captive to a masterly display in the art of communication skills by one India’s finest trainers, motivators and coaches, namely Akash Gautam.

In his inimitable style (many feel that he should apply for a patent!), he spoke at length on the art of communicating with all kinds of people. He advised that we should speak less and listen more. He gave valuable tips on voice modulation, on the importance of exhibiting energy and a positive body language. Smiling was a topic that he revisited several times during his presentation. Tips on the Personal Interview which proves to be many a student’s bugbear, included the advice of “Show – don’t tell” – show value. He stressed on the importance of courtesy and propriety in behavior. Everyone who has met Akash earlier knows about his sense of humor which borders on the wacky at one end and raunchy on the other. Therefore it came as no surprise when he advised the assembled populace to develop a sixth sense, the sense of ‘humor’. He also emphasized on speaking with spontaneity and fearlessness.

The most sagely advise that he proffered was that we should communicate with our parents. We should listen to them, talk to them with empathy. He recalled the sense of fulfillment that he got when he took his own mother for a ‘date’. He decried the practice of complaining all the time. “Face your problems, not Facebook them” was another of his ‘Akashisms’. The one slogan that was probably a big take away for the audience was that “Happy people are more successful”. Akash ended the seminar with the amazing one liner that “vDy Bksdjsa [kkus ls vkrh gS cnke [kkus ls ugha

All in all, the seminar was received enthusiastically by the audience who had come with great expectations and went back without their hopes belied. The Director Mr. Gaurav Agrawal in his welcome speech recounted the history of Career Launcher Allahabad and emphasized that CLA was the only institution in Allahabad that organized so many similar events where entry was completely free for the benefit of the Allahabad people at large. A number of significant Academic luminaries like Dr. Tripti Singh, Senior Faculty MNNIT, Dr. Vaibhav Singh, noted Commerce faculty and Mr. Gaurav Gulati, Director United Group of Institutions were felicitated with special ‘Bindaas Bol’ mementos. Mr. Vishal Gulati, the Joint Director proposed a vote of thanks. The entire event was conducted by Ajoy under the overall management of Shashank Somvanshi, Centre Head CLA. Abhishek Singh, Ayushi, Abhishek Mathur and Devendra Mishra provided valuable back end support.

Panacea Parikrama

Career Launcher Allahabad has taken rapid strides in its quest to provide the best services to aspirants for Management and 5 Year Integrated Law courses. Numerous batches for PIN and a couple for PEX (CAT -12) have kept the entire training staff at the institute on their toes, so much so that extra part-time faculties had to be hired to serve the students better.

A lot of hard work and legwork was put in to increase the numbers in LST and for the first time a large number of students were enrolled from Hindi medium schools. For the first time we were able to breach schools like Girls’ High School, Bishop Johnson School, Delhi Public School, Army Public School, Air Force School Bamrauli etc. towards increasing number of enrolments. The sales team of Ayushi Ma’am and Kashif Khan have worked very hard and the results are a testimony to the fact. We held the first “Law Summit” on 31st July which featured a noted Lawyer of Allahabad High Court Mr. Shyamal Narain placing his point of view regarding “Changing trends in Law”. He was followed by Mr. Amandeep Raj (NALSAR) and Academic Head LST and Mr. Amitendra Kumar, National Anchor LST. The event saw a huge turnout of students from different prestigious schools of Allahabad was declared a HIT.

Considering the fact that MBA as a career has taken a beating in recent times, the resultant enrollments, particularly in the last quarter were a pleasant surprise. To help the present lot of students clear their misgivings about Quants, a Mega-Seminar “Smart Quant Cracker” was organized with Quants expert from CLHO, Mr. Gaurav Srivastava giving the aspirants numerous tips and tricks to improve their Quants score.

Career Launcher Allahabad also bagged the prestigious United Group of Institutions contract for the 2nd year running for their Pre-Placement Training Programme (no doubt based on the stupendous results from the previous year). Juggling with the limited resources at hand, Sanjeev managed to carry it off with his customary élan. Despite the constraints, we gave even better results this year with a record smashing 158 students being placed at Infosys. The fact of the matter is that numerous offers are pouring in from similar institutions from as far as Raebareli for running similar courses.

Panacea Higher Education too is taking rapid strides in the field of education with a strategic tie-up with the humungous K.P. Group of Institutions to run the MHP Institute of Mass Communication and the 5 year integrated law course at the K.P. Law Faculty. Under the helm ship of Mr. Vishal Gulati and Mr. Sahil Sachdeva, the institute is all set carve a niche in the rather dormant field of mass communication. Admissions have shown a much better trend this year compared to previous years and is expected to be better in the coming months.

We at Career Launcher are proud of our lineage and determined to carry the baton forward. We are sure that we would continue to grow at a scorching pace and set the benchmark for other Training Institutes to emulate.

LAW AS A CAREER

A SEMINAR BY MR. DEVRANJAN MISHRA (NLSIU BANGALORE ALUMNUS)

Continuing from where it left off last year, Career Launcher Allahabad has taken upon itself to spread awareness about Law as more than a viable career option for Class XII pass-outs. Looking at the plethora of Engineering/Medical colleges with questionable pedigrees mushrooming faster than frogs in the monsoons and the resultant influx of semi-competent Engineers/Doctors into the system, the need for more viable career options for the undergraduate cannot be over-stressed. With this in mind, Career Launcher Allahabad has taken upon itself to educate students and spread awareness among the general populace about the extremely lucrative and upcoming career of the Integrated Law Programme offered by the National Law Schools.

Accordingly, Career Launcher Allahabad organized a seminar on 25th March 2011 aptly titled ‘Law as a Career’ at Hotel Milan Palace. The keynote speaker was Mr. Devranjan Mishra an alumnus of NLSIU Bangalore. At first glance Devranjan could be mistaken for a Law School aspirant instead of the remarkable achiever that he undoubtedly is. A Guinness Book of World Records holder (for memory – can be Googled), an NTSE Scholarship holder, has a patent pending for a project he did for Intel Corporation, has represented India in International Debates at Amsterdam & London, has represented India in Moot Court Competitions at Hague & Hong Kong and the list keeps going on.

Devranjan explained with incredible candour and forthrightness about the CLAT Examination and the various topics & subjects. He described the life at a Law School in such an illustrative manner that almost everyone present in the hall felt like taking the examination! He also stressed on the fact that although the level of English & Maths was of basic level, yet students should enroll for LST (Law School Tutorial of Career Launcher) especially to get good marks in Legal Aptitude which was a new subject for most aspirants. After listening to him speak for the better part of two hours one could not but help being confident of taking this or any other Law School examination.

The Center Head of Career Launcher Allahabad Mr. Shashank opined that the LST course offered to CLAT & other Law School Examinations aspirants provided the best resources. The entire event was conducted by Mr. Ajoy Chakraborty and supported by Mr. Tarun Gupta, Ms. Ayushi Poddar and Mr. Alok Verma.
