"Akash" visits earth

“Idiot ways to crack CAT hits Allahabad”

Mr. Akash Gautam, International level PDP trainer and Limca Book Record holder for excellence in English vocabulary held a seminar titled “Idiot ways to crack CAT” on 26 July 2010 at K.P. Community Center, targeting CAT 2010 and 2011 specifically. This Mega event was held under the aegis of Career Launcher Allahabad.

Veni-Vidi-Vici’. He came, he saw and he conquered. Allahabad was witness to an event of awesome magnitude for the third year running. For students who are used to dull, dreary and drab seminars, it was an afternoon which would be etched firmly in their minds forever. Akash gave such amazing tips on the learning and the retention process, that it sent the confidence of the students soaring. That preparation for CAT could be so much fun, was incomprehensible for most students; that is until now. The signature tune of ‘All iz well electrified the atmosphere and made the entire ambience rocking, since the overwhelming majority of the audience consisted of the generation next. With his characteristic wit, he kept the audience in splits. To keep an impatient generation captive for close to four hours was an achievement in itself. The entire hall was chock-a-bloc with students with even standing place at a premium. A conservative estimate put it at more than a thousand students.

Akash shared with the students 7 Mantras to succeed in CAT. These mantras have been highly researched by Career Launcher, the premium MBA entrance preparation institution, after having trained more than 10 lakh MBA aspirants in the last 15 years. These mantras are not known normally and gave an inside view on the strategies to combat the CAT. The whole philosophy behind the seminar was to enjoy the preparation for CAT. Career Launcher was the trail blazer in initializing the concept of Edutainment in the classroom, where the emphasis was on students who were trained and happy. After all, happy people are more successful too. Getting accustomed to CAT reading, planning, time management, innovation, positive thinking, along with regular testing and strong vocabulary, were some main points which were discussed for the CAT entrance. In 2008 and 2009, Career launcher Allahabad had organised similar events ‘Jab we CAT’ and “Vocab ki Dhan te nan” for the students of CAT 2008 & CAT 2009 respectively. Seeing the stupendous success of that event, this year’s event was planned covering a wider range of topics.

The entire event was the brainchild of Mr. Gaurav Agarwal, Director, Career launcher Allahabad and organised by Mr. Sanjeev Mishra, Head of Location. The host for the seminar was Mr. Ajoy Chakraborty, Head of Corporate Communications, Career launcher Allahabad.

Sorry guys, was in self-induced hibernation for a while, so missed updating you on several things that have happened in the last few months at CL Allahabad. So without further ado, here's the latest that's happening at CLA...

The LSTians from CL Allahabad who did us proud are Utkarsh Srivastava who got calls from NUJS Kolkata & NLIU Bhopal, Mohit Maheshwari from NLU Jodhpur, Varun Srivastava from NLU Jodhpur & Symbiosis Pune, Vibhor Raj and Agrima from RGNLU Patiala, Symbiosis Pune & NLU Orissa, Shreya Gupta from CNLU Patna, Aakash Priyadarshi from RMLNLU Lucknow, Kumar Shreshta, Garima Singh, Swatantra Rai, Animesh Bhaskar Tripathi from NLU Orissa, Anubhav Verma, Abhinav Gaur, Meetali Agarwal, Saumya Srivastava, Mehul Khare, Ritvika from Symbiosis Pune, Shume Banerji, Priyam Nigam, Vishal Shukla, Isha Pandey, Nikita Tandon and Sagar Mehrotra from UPES Dehradun, Mandvi Malviya, Abhishek Gupta, Piyush Kumar Mishra from Indraprastha University Delhi, Tanisha Jahangir & Nidhi Tiwari from Amity Law College, Noida.

In fact the new mantra is “CLAT IS THE NEW MBA”, underlying the importance of considering this field as the most promising and the most exciting among all the different career options in today’s era.

The Chief Guest at the function was Mr. Sanjay Prasad (IAS), the District Magistrate of Allahabad. Mr. Prasad exhorted the students to work hard and try and make both quantitative and qualitative changes in the system to make the world a better place for the future generations.

Special mention should be made here of the Head of Location CL Allahabad Mr. Sanjeev Mishra and his dedicated team members Mr. Shashank Somvanshi, Mr. Ajoy Chakraborty & Mr. Shashank Singhal, without whose dedicated efforts this would not have been possible. Their scientific and logical approach in transferring their content and the skills to the students has been appreciated by all and sundry. Career Launcher has carved a niche for itself in the field of MBA coaching and the results of the last few years bear testimony to this fact. It proves that last year’s performance by students from Career Launcher was no flash in the pan. Years of consistently providing top results in MBA entrance has given not only us, but also the students who enroll with us a quiet confidence to prepare not only for the written exam and subsequent GDPI but also for the larger battle in the life ahead.

Coming soon after the stupendous results in the Civil Services Examination, these results are heralding the return of the Golden Era of the Sangam City giving enough reasons for all Allahabadis to be proud of.

Career Launcher Allahabad Team Bags
Coveted Academic Excellence Award in Annual Academic Conference in Jaipur

Career Launcher Allahabad has been awarded the coveted Academic Excellence Award in the Annual Academic Conference in Jaipur organized by Career Launcher Worldwide. The parameters for this award are standards of training, results, student feedback, infrastructure, quality of mentorship, academic & career counseling and overall excellence. The fact that CL Allahabad has won this among 130 centers all over India makes it especially rewarding.

Career Launcher India Limited (CL) is Asia’s leading education service provider with presence in over 130 locations across India, Middle East and the United States. With its focus on the students’ needs, its foundation firmly set on its Core, and technology as a key driver, CL strives to enable people to realize their potential and make their dreams come true. Today over 400+ academicians and professionals around the world work with CL to counsel and groom over 50,000+ students across 130 locations in India, Middle East and the US.

Career Launcher Allahabad recently celebrated its 8th anniversary and is the leading MBA, BBA and CLAT entrance examination training center.

Career Launcher in general has always had the largest number of successful candidates in IIMs and other prestigious MBA institutions and Career Launcher Allahabad has the enviable record of giving 132 IIM call getters in the last 6 years. This year students CL Allahabad have added more feathers in its well-adorned cap by not only getting 13 IIM (multiple calls), but also created history by getting a record shattering 7 MDI Gurgaon calls, the largest in the last 5 years, the only FMS call getter from Allahabad, Vivek Jain, 4 calls from TAPMI, 2 from XLRI out of which Sumanta Layak has converted, 4 from TISS, 4 from S.P. Jain, 6 from Narsee Monjee to name a few. Several of these have also converted like Harshit Verma for IIFT (the only one from Allahabad), Kriti Arora for GIM and SIMC, Ritesh Chaddha and Siddhi for SIBM (B).

The basic premise at Career Launcher has always been students first. Therefore, no sooner than the announcement was made by the IIM about CAT going online, Career Launcher was adequately prepared. The system was in place, it was only made operational. The emphasis was on SIS (Student Information System), where students had an opportunity to give more than 400+ tests. What Therefore, the students at CL are at a distinct advantage compared to others.

A word here about the team at Panacea Careers & Management Pvt Ltd of which Career Launcher is a part of:

Mr. Gaurav Agrawal, CEO Panacea is a graduate from the University of Allahabad & is an alumnus of IIM Lucknow (Executive Program). Now as a group it is in partnership with companies like Career Launcher, Educare & LAKSH wherein it is empanelled as consultants to companies like, NDTV India, Capgemini, Citi Group, Reliance ADAG, Hero Mind Mine, AHA to name a few.

It is a fact that the recession is over and it is also a fact that the market for well trained Management Graduates is witnessing another boom. As per a recent study, 5000 MBAs are needed per annum for the next 20 years making it one of the most lucrative job options. RECORD BREAKING CALLS BY CAREER LAUNCHER ALLAHABAD STUDENTS

Career Launcher is proud to announce the names of the following students who have studied at its Allahabad center and received calls from various prestigious Management Institutes across the country. Vivek Jain, a CL Allahabad student, is the only call getter from Allahabad from FMS (Faculty of Management Studies) New Delhi. Similarly Bhavi Chanduka and Sumanta Layak both CL Allahabad students, are the only ones from the city to have got calls from XLRI (Xaviers Labour Research Institute Jamshedpur). In a similar vein Nalin Goel, Prachi Aggarwal and Harshit Verma have got calls from JMET. Harshit, the last mentioned, is the only aspirant from Allahabad who has also been called by IIFT. While SNAP saw seven of our students in the selected list namely Ishaan Wazalwar, Rit Shukla, Siddhi Agarwal, Iti Mehrotra, Supriya Rai, Ritesh Chaddha and Deepshikha Aggarwal, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai has given calls to two of our students namely Ratanpreet Kaur and Saurav Jaiswal. GIM (Goa Institute of Management) has given calls to Neha Aggarwal and Gaurav Sinha and XIMB (Xaviers Institute of Management Bhuvaneshwar) has given calls to Ishaan Wazalwar and Rit Shukla. All these students are at present going through a rigorous ‘PDP Boot-Camp’ in the CL Allahabad campus in order to convert their calls to final selection. In fact this may well be the precursor to more good news in the days to come, when the CAT results come out. The reason for such stupendous results is easy to understand. The high quality and extensive study material, the standardised coaching pedagogy and the personalised mentorship by the trainers combined to produce such results.

Mr. Sanjeev Mishra, Head of Location Career Launcher congratulated the successful students and wished them a bright future. He also announced the commencement of fresh batches for CAT from 20th February 2009.

MEGA EVENTS AT CL ALLD.

CL ALLAHABAD CHARTS NEW TERRITORY IN THE MBA FIRMAMENT!

October & November proved to be the biggest months for CLA because two events were organised on a scale and magnitude, the likes of which Allahabad had not been witness to in recent memory. The first was Vocab-ki-Dhan-te-nan where a cyclone by the name of Akash Gautam hit Hotel Kanhashyam on 29 October. Agreed it was hyped, agreed that there was paucity of space, agreed that all the students could not be accommodated, but agreed too was the fact that it was well worth the effort put in by everyone at CL. Akash came, he saw and he conquered. The jam-packed convention hall (more than 1500 students) was bursting at its seams with expectation, and Akash certainly did not disappoint. With an energy that was breathtaking in its intensity, he swept everyone off their feet. With his now patented style of combining vocabulary with snippets from Bollywood & Hollywood blockbusters and well known advertisements, he managed to convert the dreary and dreaded subject of vocabulary into an exercise of amazing fun and learning. To top it up, he used his cutting sense of humour to devastating effect and brought the house down. The fact that it was not just entertainment (unadulterated-which it was) was borne out long after the event, when the English faculty at CLA found, to their pleasant surprise, that the students retained many of the words they had learned that day. Even at the end of 4 ½ hours, the students wanted more! To sum it up, Vocab-ki-Dhan-te-nan was an undisputed HIT!

The second major event happened on the 13th & 14th of November when 31 B-Schools landed in the Sangam city in a unique Sangam of their own, aptly named MBA Junction. Initiated by Career Launcher H.O. this was an event which was basically meant for those who might miss the IIMs or other top B-Schools but still have the fire for an MBA degree/diploma from a reasonably good B-School. The biggest take-away was the presence of so many stars from the IIM galaxy. The likes of Dr. Ramu Ayer, Mr. Abhilash Lal, Dr. Sudhir Sharan, Dr. Debrata Deb, R Sreenivasan to name just a few graced the stage and enlightened the students (who had braved the unseasonal rains) with their pearls of wisdom. More than 70 delegates from the different B-Schools gave their presentations on the two days. When quizzed about their Allahabad experience they were unequivocal and fulsome in their praise for the organisation and hospitality shown by Team CL Allahabad, which made their Allahabad sojourn most satisfying. The credit for organising and holding these two mega events within one month of each other goes to the entire CL team. Nonetheless, special kudos to Sanjeev, Zishan, Anushree, Shashank, Abhay, Vishal, Sohini, Alok, Ajoy and last but not the least, the livewire CEO of Panacea Mr. Gaurav Agarwal.

The Big CAT is on the prowl from 28th November onwards and the students are understandably jittery. Despite assurances from their mentors in person and on various alternative media like FB & Orkut, the butterflies in the collective stomachs refuse to lie still. IIFT on 22nd has already sprung a surprise by introducing sectional cut-offs. CAT was never predictable and this time it would be online, so double the jitters. Hopefully the students of CLA, fed on a regular diet of online MOCKS and counselled by committed mentors would be in a better frame mind to bell this CAT!

September Blog

CAT fever on at CL, Allahabad...

As the countdown begins, the furrows on the brows are getting deeper, the cheeks are getting hollower (a self-invented word!), and the demeanour is getting less confident. All the puffery that was so evident in the earlier months is remarkable in its absence now. Some students of course would like to demur, but the fact of the matter is that as CAT draws closer, as the preparations get into the last lap, the heartbeats are getting louder by the minute. There are frequent reports of students breaking into cold sweat at all kinds of unearthly hours. Some students are intent on leaving no bases uncovered, but do we see a question of overkill here? On the other hand there are some who wear the bindaas/I give a damn/my-Dad-is-permanently-going-to-bankroll me attitude as a matter of style.

Some of them have made CL their second home and follow their mentors like faithful puppies, while there are others who grace CL by their August presence only when they feel like it.

CAT is almost like playing a game of Russian roulette. You never know what to expect till you have come out of the exam hall, and usually by then, it’s too late.

Guys, take a chill pill. Relax. Prepare the basics & prepare them well. Strategise, manage time, practice making the correct choices; remember you do not have to attempt each question. The IIMs actually keep throwing red herrings at calculated intervals. You’ll swallow only at your own peril. To quote a typical cricket analogy, play like a test batsman, surviving the opening spell is more about knowing what to leave and what to play...

All the best kids, keep the ol’ chin up and keep smiling.

Adios amigos.
